More dialogues are needed for achieving a balanced outcome of the ongoing UN Conference on Climate Change (COP 16) here, China's chief climate change negotiator said.

"In Cancun, we are seeking an outcome that reflects a balance between the two tracks under the Kyoto Protocol as well as under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change," Su Wei told Xinhua.
"It has been four days since the conference started, but we still do not have a very clear picture of that outcome after the negotiations," Su said.
"We do not have much time left," he said. "We should be aware of the time limit, try to focus on the main issues and make any progress that we can make."
China hopes that the outcome in Cancun could lay a solid foundation for future negotiations after the conference, Su said.
The COP 16, running from Nov. 29 to Dec. 10 in the Mexican resort of Cancun, aims at finding solutions to global climate change. Attendees include some 25,000 government officials, businessmen as well as members of nongovernmental organizations and research institutions from almost 200 countries.
