Climate change funding raises little hope
Climate change mitigation funding has becomes difficult for the vulnerable countries. Fund availability is far from adequate. Allocation principles, which very from country to country made decision making complicated. China, a G77 country, proposed for a manager for deciding on what basis the fund will be distributed. The Multi Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) also faces similar difficulties. It would be wiser for each vulnerable country to enhance its national capacity rather than depend on UN Fund for Climate Change (UNFCC).

Romania stinge din nou lumina de Earth Hour
Pe 27 martie, de la 20:30, WWF Romania, alaturi de partenerii si sustinatorii organizatiei, va da tonul stingerii luminilor din zeci de orase, cladiri proeminente si institutii, invitand oamenii din toata tara sa repete gestul, in casele lor. Astfel, Romania se alatura pentru a doua oara campaniei globale Earth Hour (Ora Pamantului), pana acum cea mai mare manifestare de mediu din toate timpurile.

Carlgren: Mexico Climate Talks Will Fail
The failures of last year’s climate meeting in Copenhagen are casting a long shadow on the coming international UN conference in Mexico at the end of the year. Romania saluta noua strategie UE de combatere a schimbarilor climatice
Romania este de acord cu reducerea emisiilor Uniunii Europene cu peste 20% si sprijina obiectivul diminuarii emisiilor de CO2 provenite de la vehiculele utilitare usoare, a declarat luni ministrul Mediului si Padurilor, Laszlo Borbely, la Reuniunea Consiliului de Mediu de la Bruxelles.
